Description

For most students the Fashion Design  7 course is the last they will complete in order to receive their Diploma in Fashion Design from The Designers’ Education Studio. This advanced course is focused on look book work, interview skills, social media, styling and researching brand ideas. Students will create 5-6 final looks for their look book, construct these garments with a model and photograph these for their look book. This course is structured differently with in studio classes, portfolio development with their tutor and a final review at the end of the course with an industry professional.

    • Introduction to Microsoft PowerPoint
    • Working with a model for final look book

     

    • Styling- Current Trend research and Streetstyle
    • From the chosen themes from current seasons Trends.
    • Create a moodboard with 5 final designs.
    • Task in class- Choose your trends
    • Homework- Finish your moodboard and final designs.

     

    • Understanding brands
    • Designing for a brand / target market/ customer profile
    • Develop a theme and collection for a brand with 6 final outfits.
    • Task in class- Start researching the brand an ideas.
    • Homework-Finish your moodboard and final designs.

     

    • Using one shape to design a collection with.
    • Pick one shape – Who is your target market, create your customer profile.
    • Moodboard and design a collection and moodboard around it start toiling it and constructing your garment.

     

    • Using PowerPoint to create a look book
    • Photographing final pieces in studio
    • Reviewing work for the look book
    • Final print and look book composition

    *Spare equipment is available in class

    **Sewing machines are provided for class however, it is recommended to have a sewing machine at home for practice.

  • Internship & Work

    Internships and the work placement program is only in conjunction with the Diploma. If you would like work placements it is recommended to take the Fashion Design Diploma.
