Description
Master the essential designer task of paint and color specification in this course. Dive deep into the science of how we get color onto a surface, know how to choose the right product to achieve a luxurious result, and de-mystify color formulas to know the difference between whites and there undertones through this mix of class and field-trip to the paint tinting lab. Let’s experiment with some techy color apps and AR tools too!

What does the course cover?
•Whats in a can of paint and why? What adds value to a product?
•Get acquainted with fan-decks and color chips then test your new skills in a game of speed
•Break down a paint formula and lean how to translate one
•Compare how the color wheel and RGB differs from pigments and Pantones
•Learn how to use color apps and techy tools that are up-to-date and add a professional layer to designers-client meetings
•Master surface recognition and sheens.
•Understand what an environmentally wise and a safe paint is.

Internship & Work
The Designers’ Studio runs an active Internship Programme whereby we collaborate with several interior design companies and showrooms such as Pottery Barn, Ethan Allen, Crate and Barrel to name a few. The end goal of our training is to secure work in the industry for our graduates and we actively facilitate this. Work shadowing is organised for top students during holiday breaks. Great care is taken to match the student’s aspirations and abilities with a suitable practice.
