Annie Sloan Chalk Paint®️ Demo

Last weekend The Designers’ Studio team collaborated with the talented ladies from Artistique and The Imperfect Parlour for a bespoke workshop for TDS students displaying Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® methods. We had a brilliant turnout from The Designers’ Studio Students and it’s safe to say we all learnt a lot. Jo and Naomi’s explanations and insights were invaluable, they are truly the masters of their trade. During the class there was a giveaway competition and Nadia, a lucky student, won a workshop with Artistique! The workshop demo included the basic Annie Sloan techniques that set our imagination alight. We watched demos on Annie’s practical approach to painting to achieve a range of professional, quality finishes without the fuss.

These basic techniques included:​

• Two-colour distresses/aged look which is Annie’s ‘signature’ finish & Wash Effect

• Sgraffito technique & One-colour smooth modern look

• Creating textured paint effect and use of wax to create different colour effects

• Use of gilding waxes

• Simple stencil techniques

While Naomi from Artistique was demonstrating the decorative paint techniques, Jo from the Imperfect Parlor was transforming a piece of furniture to show how effective and simple these paint methods are.
